Open Space Acquisition Committee
At Town meeting, June 21st 2006 the voters of Clinton did something that had never been done before in Clintons history - They voted to make a down payment of $200,000 on the property known as Rauscher's Farm. This is historic in the sense that Clinton as a town has never before tried to obtain open space. As a selectman and citizen I am extremely proud of my fellow Clintonian's who stepped forward and voted yes as the first step in this proposal.
The Board of Selectmen have now formed a committee to investigate alternate funding sources and approaches to help offset the remaining purchase price of $2.45 million for the Rauscher farm property.
We need your help, Our committee wants this to be a community effort and for any and all who wish to help or participate in any way. Please contact us and we will tell you what you can do to help. The key is to raise as much money as possible to offset the amount the town will have to appropriate at Town Meeting. Therefore the committee would also like to solicit all the monetary donations it can.
